HAWLEY, Texas -- At least one person was ejected from their vehicle after it rolled off the road Monday afternoon in Jones County.

The crash happened on County Road 1226 about three miles northeast of Hawley and involved one SUV. First responders told KTXS crew at the scene that one person was trapped inside the car after the rollover.

Those involved in the rollover haven't been identified at this time.

A helicopter was called to the scene, and one person was evacuated to a hospital. The extent of injuries wasn't made available, though the person ejected wasn't seriously hurt.

Abilene police say the driver was obeying the speed limit, but an animal ran in front of the vehicle and caused the driver to swerve and lose control, forcing the rollover.
