One person is dead after a pickup truck crashed into a pillar under an overpass on Interstate 20 in Tye and burst into flames Tuesday evening.
It happened just about 5 p.m. at mile marker 279. Tye police say the driver of the pickup truck lost control while traveling west and slammed into the pillar. An 18-wheeler behind the pickup swerved to avoid a collision but then jackknifed and came to a stop in a grassy area nearby.
