2 indicted in Taylor County for crimes against children
ABILENE, Texas - Two Taylor County residents were indicted Thursday for crimes against children. Indicted (in bold) were: Kathleen Wood, 34, of Abilene - Wood was arrested for injury to a child on Feb. 6. According to court documents, a child under the age of 14 years old was returned to his mother with bruising on the child's face. The child indicated Wood "had become angry at the child and grabbed him on the face with her hand." Wood was released from jail on a $5,000 bond. Lupe Marez, 68, of Merkel : Marez is accused of inappropriately touching a young girl on two occasions more than 15 years ago. According to court documents, two alleged incidents happened -- once in October 2000 when the victim was 11 years old and another time in November 2001 when the victim was 12. The Taylor County Sheriff's Office reportedly overheard a conversation between Marez and the alleged victim. === MUGSHOTS OF THE 2 --} http://www.ktxs.com/617618061 === During that conversation, Marez said "he never really did anything 'really bad ... other than just touch.'" A sheriff's deputy also reported hearing Marez tell the victim something like "I touched you and I shouldn't have." Marez was released from Taylor County Jail after posting bail. His bond had been set at $10,000.
