2016 finishes as 6th wettest year ever recorded for Abilene

ABILENE, Texas - At the start of 2016, we began dry with no significant amount of rainfall until the Spring. After that, much needed rainfall continued across the area through the end of December.

Both Abilene and San Angelo faired well with rainfall totals for 2016. Below are the top 10 wettest years ever recorded since records began back in the late 1800s.

For Abilene, 2016 ranked as 6th wettest for the city with 37 inches.

San Angelo observed close to the same amount of rainfall with 35.72" for the year which puts 2016 in third place for their records.
