4 Garth Brooks shows -- yes, 4 -- sell out quickly in Lubbock

Garth BrooksThe country music superstar announced his retirement in 2000. His decision to not tour held for more than a decade, but he returned to live performances with a five-year residency in Las Vegas starting in December 2009. He also has returned to the road, kicking off his first world tour in 13 years with shows featuring his wife, fellow country star Trisha Yearwood, in the Chicago area in September 2014.

No seats remain for Garth Brooks' tour stopover in Lubbock.

It started as one show.

Now there will be four shows -- spread over three days in late March and early April -- at United Supermarkets Arena.

And they were all sold out -- 50,000 seats total -- in less than an hour Friday.

According to a concert spokesperson, Brooks has "broken his West Texas/Panhandle record" for seats sold.

"The previous record was set in July 1997 with 22,000 tickets sold at Potter County Stadium," the spokesperson said in an email.

The concerts will be:

- Friday, March 31, 7 p.m.

- Saturday, April 1, 3 p.m.

- Saturday, April 1, 7 p.m.

- Sunday, April 2, 3 p.m.

KTXS will provide additional details as they become available.
