Abilene City Council asking for public input during special meeting
ABILENE, Texas - Abilene City Council wants your opinion on several proposed changes in Abilene, including regulating some loan providers.
The council is asking residents to attend a special city council meeting at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday. They will discuss a proposed payday lending ordinance that would regulate the practice of those businesses. The council is set to vote on that proposal Thursday.
The council also wants to discuss how the city should address illegal dumping in city limits, and the prospect of implementing a new automated water meter reading system.
KTXS has done numerous reports about resident complaints about illegal dumping and exceptionally high water bills in the last year.
The meeting will be held at Abilene City Hall, 555 Walnut Street in Abilene, on the second floor.
