Abilene couple indicted for continual sexual abuse of 2 young girls
ABILENE, Texas - An Abilene couple was indicted Thursday for allegedly sexually abusing two young girls over a two year period.
Chelsea Diaz, 29, and Howard Sturgis, 56, were originally arrested in April and charged with continuous sexual abuse of a child and indecency with a child. The victims are both under the under age 14.
According to the arrest warrant, one of the victims told a teacher about the abuse. The victim said the abuse had been going on since January 2015.
Both were released from jail on $100,000 bonds.
Last week, Sturgis was arrested for indecency with a child.
According to court documents, he engaged in sexual contact with a girl who was eight years old at the time. The victim reported it happened on several occasions during April 1993.
His bond was set at $200,000.
