Abilene Education Foundation to host cajun festival at Taylor County Fairgrounds
ABILENE, Texas - The aroma of spicy crawfish can be found in Abilene this weekend. Get the family together for a taste of the bayou at the Abilene Education Foundation's 7 th annual Cajun Festival at the Taylor County Fairgrounds from 11 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Saturday. There will be a crawfish and shrimp boil, inflatables for the kids and live entertainment. four elementary choirs, two middle school bands, three high school bands, two college bands, and the Abilene Community Band will perform. A 5K run/walk will take place starting at 8:30 a.m. This year, the serving line will be open all day from 11 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. or until everything is gone. There is no charge to enter this year's festival. Ticket prices: Adult crawfish and shrimp plate: $20 Child crawfish and shrimp boil plate: $10 All-You-Care-to- Ride Inflatables/Children's Activities Wristband: $20. Individual ride/drink tickets: 20 tickets for $10 or 10 tickets for $5. Crawfish Crawl 5K Run/Walk - $30 on event day Family bundles can be bought for $100, and they include two adult tickets and two children's tickets, two all-you-can-ride wristbands for the inflatable park, entry for the family to the 5K race, and four drink coupons. All of the proceeds will benefit the teachers and students of Abilene ISD through the enrichment of AEF programs including scholarships for high school students.
