Abilene man arrested for 2nd time in 8 months for soliciting underage girls online
ABILENE, Texas - For the second time in eight months, a 23-year-old Abilene man has been arrested for soliciting underage girls online.
Abilene police detectives took David Lee Longman into custody Thursday, charging him with online solicitation of a minor. His bond in that case was set at $75,000. He remained jailed Friday.
Police are asking the public for help with the investigation.
Longman previously was arrested for online solicitation of a minor and sexual assault of a child during August 2016.
Police say Longman "frequently" used phone applications such as KiK, MeetMe and Snapchat, along with other online social media platforms, to "target and engage underage females."
"Longman preys on children by pretending to be an underage male, then asking young children to send him obscene photos," an Abilene Police Department news release said Friday. "The investigation has revealed that Longman has met with and assaulted multiple victims after beginning an online relationship.
"Detectives believe there may be other victims that are unknown at this time. Detectives would also like to remind parents and users of these applications that there are predators in the community who use these apps to prey on children."
Detectives are urging anyone with information regarding the case to call (325) 673-8331.
