Abilene man arrested for fatal 2016 hit-and-run accident
A 20-year-old Abilene man has been indicted for a hit-and-run accident that left one man dead.
Bryan Wade Harris was arrested Wednesday after being indicted Aug. 3 for accident involving death.
According to court documents, Harris -- about 1:30 a.m. on July 13, 2016 -- left scene of the accident on T&P Lane near E.S. 11th Street across from Cal Young Park.
On arrival, police located the body of a white male -- later identified as 24-year-old Justin Robinson -- that appeared to have been hit by a vehicle and dragged several feet.
When Harris left the scene, document indicates "it was then apparent that Robinson needed treatment."
Abilene police said Harris later turned himself in and spoke to detectives about the incident.
After a 24-year-old man was killed Wednesday in an apparent hit-and-run collision on T&P Lane in Abilene, the driver of the vehicle turned himself in to Abilene police.
According to a news release from the Abilene Police Department, a 19-year-old man came forward after Justin Nelson Robinson was found dead.
APD says he turned himself in Wednesday, the same day as the accident, and spoke to detectives about the incident.
Police said Thursday that the investigation is continuing and the case will be forwarded to the Taylor County District Attorney's Office for the possible filing of charges.
The 19-year-old, whose identity has not been released, was not in police custody as of Thursday.
