Abilene Police Officer's Association endorses Briley for mayor
ABILENE, Texas - With just four weeks left before the municipal elections, the Abilene Police Officer's Association announced its choice for mayor.
The APOA endorsed former city councilman Robert Briley.
Briley is running against current councilman Anthony Williams and Richard Kennedy.
"The APOA believes Mr. Briley will best support the interests and values of the Abilene Police Department," the association said in a news release. "Mr. Briley's successful background as a previous Abilene City Councilman and business owner will bring great value to his position as our next mayor."
The election is May 6. Early voting begins April 24.
The three mayoral candidates will face off April 20 in the KTXS/Abilene Reporter News Mayoral Debate. It will air from 6-7 p.m. on KTXS. The debate will also be carried live on KTXS.com and the KTXS Facebook page.
