Abilene's new city secretary previously served city of Dallas
ABILENE, Texas - The city of Abilene's newest secretary has plenty of experience running big cities, but she said it's her goal to help Abilene progress.
Rosa Rios was named city secretary at a city council meeting on Nov. 16. Rios has previously served in Garland, Cockrell Hill, Seagoville, and Dallas. Her appointment was made after former Abilene secretary Danette Dunlap retired in September.
Rios was appointed city secretary for Dallas in 2012 and resigned this past August."Professionally, I am very excited to join the team that has been leading Abilene and I look forward to doing my part to continue to make Abilene a progressive city," Rios said in a statement provided by the city. "It's always been a personal goal of mine to live in a close knit community where its citizen's truly care about one another and I've finally found that." Rios will start this coming Monday.
