ACHS hires Holloway as next head football coach

ABILENE, TX - After the departure of Ysmael Olvera earlier this year, Abilene Christian High school has found its new head football coach.

The school announced the hiring of Jim Holloway from six-man program Miami ISD.

Holloway becomes a Panther after previous stops with Groom H.S. as well with Lubbock Christian, where he was a part of the 2000 1A state championship staff.

It's also impressive to note Coach Holloway's academic success of his players. Nearly 80 percent of all his student athletes have been Academic All-State selections.

Holloway, who served in the U.S. Air Force, graduated from Lubbock Christian University in 1991 and earned a Masters of Education in 2003.

He is married to his wife, Stephanie, for 27 years and has two grown children. KTXS will have a chance to meet Coach Holloway on Thursday afternoon.
