Appeals court upholds life sentence of Shackelford County man who sexually abused child
SHACKELFORD COUNTY, Texas - The 11 th Court of Appeals in Eastland has upheld the conviction and life in prison without possibility of parole sentence of a Shackelford County man who authorities say continually sexually assaulted a child. Timothy Lee McKenzie, 40, of Albany was convicted and sentenced for sexually abusing a child during January 2016 in the 259 th District Court of Shackelford County. Jack Thompson, investigator in the 259 th District Attorney's Office, made the announcement that the appeals court had upheld the decisions Friday in an email. According to court documents, McKenzie sexually abused a child - under the age of 14 - between December 2013 and May 2014. KTXS will provide additional details when they become available.
