Associate Judge taking office to help alleviate Taylor County family court backlog

A backlog of cases in Taylor County's 326th District Court should now see some movement. A new fulltime judge was sworn-in Friday to help tackle the work-load.

Local family law attorney April Propst was sworn-in as associate judge of the 326th.

KTXS spoke with District Judge Paul Rotenberry about the backlog in the court earlier this summer.

He's been dealing with so many drug and CPS-related cases that other items like divorces weren't getting the attention needed.

Associate Judge Propst will begin work immediately.
