Big Country teams in this week's TABC rankings
ABILENE, TX - Big Country teams are on the move in this week's Texas Association of Basketball Coaches (TABC) State rankings.
In Class 4A, the Wylie Bulldogs are in 4th this week, riding a 21-3 record into this week's district games with Brownwood and Big Spring.
We skip down to Class 2A, and the Albany Lions who remain in 16th for the second straight week. Albany is 17-4 on the year.
In Class 1A, paired together are the Jayton Jaybirds (20-5) and Eula Pirates (17-6) at both 12th and 13th respectively. Abilene Christian, as a member of TAPPS 3A, is 2nd sporting a 17-5 record.
On the girls side, 4A representatives Wylie and Brownwood made two-spot jumps in this week's rankings. The Lady Lions (19-8) now 16th, as they pace district 5-4A, but battle 2nd place Wylie (17-8) on Tuesday. The Lady Bulldogs are right behind in 17th in this week's rankings.
In Class 3A, the Lady Indians of Jim Ned (20-6) climb to 4th this week. They host Merkel on Tuesday before a road test on Friday against Clyde. Class 2A's lone Big Country ranked program is Haskell (22-5) who is 21st this week -- improving one position.
Finally in 1A girls, Hermleigh continues its undefeated season, sitting 22-0 on the year and number three in the state rankings. Then you scan down to find 10th - 12th of Ira (19-6), May (18-6), and Eula (19-6).
