Boil water notice remains in effect for Eastland
EASTLAND, Texas - Four days after crews replaced a valve on a water main in Eastland, a boil water notice remains in effect for the city. Terry Simmons with the City of Eastland said a new water sample was sent to Abilene on Monday morning. The results will not be available until Tuesday. "Until then, the BOIL WATER NOTICE remains in effect," Simmons said in an email to KTXS. The notice means people who live and/or work in Eastland should boil water used for drinking, cooking, and making ice. Doing so kills off harmful bacteria and other microbes that resulted from the repairs. "The water should be brought to a vigorous, rolling boil and then boiled for two minutes," said Simmons. If you do not want to boil water, you can purchase bottled water. If you have questions concerning this matter, call Eastland City Manager Ron Duncan at 254-629-8321 .
