Brownwood domestic violence shelter holds candlelight vigil
BROWNWOOD, Texas - The Texas Council on Family Violence recently released data showing 146 women were killed in 2016 by their male intimate partners.
The Ark Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Shelter in Brownwood honored those victims by holding a candlelight vigil inside Howard Payne University's Girling Center.
All of the names of the Texas women killed were read followed by a moment of silence.
Family members of local victims also spoke revealing how the loss of their loved ones impacted them.
