BROWNWOOD, Texas - A Christian non-profit organization in Brownwood had its clothing donation box burglarized this week.

The box belonged to Good Samaritan Ministries and was used for overnight donations. An employee noticed the box's door open and the lock missing on Tuesday morning, according to Executive Director Leesa Stephens.

"Every morning when we come in, that box is usually full to overflowing," Stephens said on Wednesday. "Sometimes people leave things on the sidewalk. There was less than a third of the items that should've been in there."

GSM reported the incident to Brownwood Police to conduct a full investigation.

Stephens said the non-profit sells the donated clothing at its retail store. They then use the profits to fund its food pantry to help feed the hungry in Brown County.
