Brownwood plant manager: No injuries from minor explosion
BROWNWOOD, Texas - A minor explosion happened last week at a Brownwood asphalt plant, rupturing the top of one of its silos.
Emergency crews responded to the site of Wright Asphalt Products on the 1500 of Custer Road Friday evening.
The plant manager said there was a very minor explosion and no one was injured. He said he couldn't release specifics because Wright Asphalt is a private company.
The family-run business uses recycled tire rubber to make pavement mix.
The high-tech facility opened in Brownwood in June of 2015.
