Bulldogs showcase team effort in unbeaten district title run


ABILENE, TX - It's pedal to the medal for the Wylie Bulldog boys basketball program following an 8-0 perfect district season and championship title run.

"That's an accomplishment that each and every year, we're able to do that," said head coach Gregg Ruffin on Thursday. "And so we just want to make sure that we don't take opponents and don't want to take -- makes sure that we don't take the process lightly."

The Bulldogs, ranked 4 th in the final Texas Association of Basketball Coaches ( TABC ) poll, enter the postseason with a variety of options and weapons. as a matter of fact -- all 15 members of the varsity roster have seen playing time as of late.

On Tuesday, all scoring at least a point in the finale against Snyder.

So unlike many programs with the go-to " guy " , it really a team effort for Wylie, as another district championship team prepares for Iowa Park in bi-district playoff action on Tuesday night.

"It helps," explained senior guard Kade Brasel. "If I'm shooting or scoop's shooting -- if Dylan can't score, we've got big guys like Dion. Really we've got everyone that can get it done."
