Country music legend George Strait to participate in Texas hurricane-relief concert

1952: Country music singer George Strait, who has scored more than 40 No. 1 hits on Billboard's Hot Country Songs chart, is born in Poteet, Texas. One of the best-selling artist of all time, some of his hits include "Fool Hearted Memory," "Amarillo by Morning," "All My Ex's Live in Texas," "Love Without End, Amen," "I Cross My Heart," "Check Yes or No" and "Write This Down."

SAN ANTONIO, Texas - Country music legend George Strait will take part next week in a Texas concert aimed at providing relief for victims of Hurricane Harvey.

Performers at the Texas event will also include Miranda Lambert, Chris Stapleton, Lyle Lovett and Robert Earl Keen.

Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Wednesday for the event to be held Tuesday, Sept. 12, at the Majestic Theatre in San Antonio.

The Texas event will be part of a major television fundraising production that has been labeled: "Hand in Hand: A Benefit for Hurricane Harvey Relief."

It will feature superstar performers, such as Beyonce and Barbra Streisand, from locations such as Los Angeles, Nashville and New York.
