DENVER - Cats can no longer be declawed in Denver.

On Monday, the Denver City Council voted to institute the declawing ban.

According to veterinarians, declawing is a frequently painful surgery that involves the amputation of the cat's first knuckle. They also say declawed cats are more likely to be bad, resulting in owners deciding to give up on their pets.
