ABILENE, Texas - The ex-girlfriend of Eric Torrez, the Abilene man who was found murdered two weeks after he went missing, was indicted Thursday by a Taylor County grand jury for burglary of a habitation.

Abilene police say Kristen Dean Jennings broke into Torrez's home and confronted his mother, Delores Cortez, about the 4-year-old girl Jennings had with Torrez. During the argument, Jennings pushed Cortez to the floor and "forcibly took" her daughter.

The confrontation happened after police say Jennings' husband, Stephen, asked Torrez to bid on a construction job at the Jennings' home in San Angelo as "ploy to lure" him of out Abilene.

Torrez was last seen July 21. His body was found Aug. 4 near Barnhart. According to the autopsy, he died from a single gunshot wound to the head.

Earlier this week, a Tom Green County Jury indicted Stephen and three others in connection with the murder, including Stephen's father Garry.
