Hot temperatures Thursday

New record high temperature for San Angelo for September 14th.

ABILENE, Texas - All weather reporting sites in our area measured 100 degrees or higher Thursday afternoon. Temperatures ranged from 100 at several sites including Abilene to 105 near Aspermont.

The 104 recorded at San Angelo Mathis Field was a new record high for September 14th - breaking the previous record for the date of 102 recorded at that location.

The high temperature measured at Abilene Regional Airport was 100 Thursday. This was just one degree shy of tying the record for the date of 101. The normal high temperature for the date in Abilene is just 87 degrees.

It has been a month and a half since Abilene recorded a triple digit high temperature. The last time it was this hot was back on July 29th when the high temperature was 103.

Temperatures are forecast to be a little lower for Friday and weekend - but still above normal for this time of the year. Look for high temperatures Friday in the middle to upper 90s and in the lower to middle 90s for Saturday and Sunday.
