House destroyed by fire in Ranger

RANGER, Texas - Fire investigators know what caused a fire that destroyed a house in Ranger. They say the homeowners did not properly dispose of ashes from the fireplace.

Sam Williams with the Eastland Fire Department tells KTXS the call came in around 10:10 p.m. Saturday.

When they arrived at the house on Main Street, the structure was fully engulfed in flames. Firefighters went into defensive mode to keep the fire from spreading to other homes.

Towards the end of the video you can see the roof collapse.

Firefighters from Ranger, Eastland, and Olden fought the fire.

No injuries were reported.

Friends of the couple that lived there tell KTXS Justin and Becca Wells have two boys, three years old and seven months old. They need boy clothes sizes 3T and 12 months.
