HSU softball ends year with loss to ETBU
MARSHALL, Texas - Hardin-Simmons' softball team closed its season with a 10-0 loss to East Texas Baptist in American Southwest Conference action.
ETBU scored two times in the second inning and four times in the third and fourth innings to setup the run rule.
Braleigh Middleton had the Cowgirls' lone hit.
Genia Jones took the loss in the circle allowing six runs in two and two-thirds. She finished the year with a record of 5-4. Lara Ammermann worked the final inning and one-third. Jordan Anderson tossed a one-hit shutout to improve to 15-2.
HSU closes the season with a record of 17-22 and 11-19 in ASC play. ETBU moved to 33-6 and 25-5 in conference action.
The Cowgirls finished one game back of the sixth and final spot in the ASC Tournament.
It was the final game for eight Cowgirl players - Lara Ammermann, Ashley Brown, KeAmbria Hunter, Katelyn Joyner, M.J. Ledkins, Braleigh Middleton, Alexis Vines and Lauren Williams.
