BROWN COUNTY, Texas - The Internal Revenue Service is now investigating Brown County Attorney Shane Britton.

On Tuesday, KTXS received a letter from an IRS revenue agent in Abilene requesting "copies of any, and all, documentation that was secured and related to KTXS's investigation into Brown County Attorney S. Alan Britton."

The letter states the IRS is requesting information in regards to a "federal tax matter" and KTXS has 10 days from the date of the letter to respond.

The U.S. Attorney in Lubbock is currently investigating Britton for allegations of corruption and bribery related to his Brown County Attorney Donation Fund.

KTXS previously reported that Britton used money from that fund to take personal trips on the county's expense, including to the Schlitterbahn Beach Waterpark and Resort in South Padre Island.
