KTXS Forecast: A few more summery days before it feels like fall again

ABILENE, Texas - We're starting off the day muggy with temperatures in the mid to upper 60s. Low clouds are rolling in south of Interstate 20 but will burn off by lunch time. Mid-day temperatures will climb into the low 80s and by the afternoon, highs will be in the upper 80s to low 90s. South winds will pick up throughout the day from 15 to gusting up to 25 mph.

Overnight, cloud cover will increase and lows will only fall into the upper 60s to low 70s.

Saturday, expect another warm and very breezy day with highs in the upper 80s and low 90s once again. Winds will be from the south again at 15 to 20 mph. Cloud cover will continue to build into the evening time as a front approaches from the north. Rain chances bump up into the late hours of Saturday night and last through much of Sunday morning.

Sunday will start out in the 50s as the front makes its way through. Winds shift sharply to the north at 20 to 30 mph. Highs only reach the mid-60s across the area. Expect rain to be out of your hair by noon. In the evening, north winds calm to about 10 to 15 mph. Lows overnight will be in the mid-40s under clear skies.

By Monday, expect clear skies and calm northeast winds at 5 to 10 mph. Highs are expected to be well below average with temperatures in the mid to upper 60s. Overnight, lows will be in the mid-40s.

Tuesday, winds shift back to the southeast at 5 to 10 mph. Clear skies continue. Highs will be in the mid to upper 70s- closer to average. Lows will be in the mid-40s to low 50s.

Wednesday and Thursday, expect temperatures to slowly warm to the upper 70s to low 80s across the Big Country.
