KTXS Forecast: A sunny& warm Labor Day for the Big Country.
ABILENE, Texas - Good morning and happy Labor Day! As you're getting up conditions outside will be clear to mostly clear with lows in the mid-60s to low 70s and winds will be out of the south/ southwest at 5-10 mph.
Monday afternoon will see sunny skies and highs will warm back to average in the low/ mid-90s across the region. Monday night will keep clear skies, lows will cool to the mid/ upper 60s and winds will be out of the southeast at 5-10 mph.
On Tuesday a cold front will begin to move into the region. Skies will start off mostly sunny but build cloud cover through the afternoon. Highs will be in the low to mid-90s, winds will be out of the southeast at 5-10 mph and there will be a 10 percent chance of isolated showers through the day. Late Tuesday night the cold front will push through the Big Country. This will make skies partly cloudy, winds switch to the northeast at 5-15 mph, lows will cool to the low/ mid-60s and there will be a 20 percent chance of scattered thundershowers overnight.
Wednesday morning will have a slight chance of rain but will dry out and clear into the afternoon. Highs are expected to be below average in the mid-80s with winds from the northeast at 5-15 mph. Wednesday night will be mostly clear and in the upper 50s/ low 60s across the region.
Thursday and Friday will be sunny to mostly sunny with highs still below normal in the mid/ upper 80s and winds will switch to the southeast at 5-10 mph. Lows through this time will be in the low/ mid-60s.
Currently for Saturday and Sunday, both days look like they will be sunny to mostly sunny with highs in the upper 80s/ low 90s.
