KTXS Forecast: Above average temperatures through the week

ABILENE, Texas - Temperatures tonight will be in the upper 40's/lower 50's as winds shift back to the south. Skies will remain clear overnight.

Monday, the warmer weather works back in quick with highs back in the lower 80's. Winds pick up to 20 mph from the south through the day, with gusts up to 25-30 mph possible. Overnight, those strong winds continue and lows will be in the lower 60's.

Tuesday will be another above average with highs in the 90's for a majority of the Big Country. Winds will be from the southwest at and above 20 mph with gusts. Partly cloudy skies continue into the evening. Tuesday night will be very mild with lows in the mid to lower 60's. Winds calm briefly to be in from the west at 10 mph.

Wednesday, a weak front will move through early in the day, cooling temperatures into the lower to mid-80's by the afternoon. Winds will be from the north/northwest at about 20 mph under partly cloudy skies. Overnight, lows will be in the mid-50's and winds will turn back to the south at 10-15 mph.

Thursday, highs will be in the mid to upper 80's and cloud cover will increase through the day. Overnight, lows will be in the mid-60's with strong south winds at 20 mph.

Friday, temperatures warm back into the lower 90's and rain chances increase into the evening. A 30 percent of thunderstorms remains until early Saturday morning.

Saturday evening, expect thunderstorm chances as well.
