KTXS Forecast: Afternoon cold front to bring cooler highs& rain chances

ABILENE, Texas - Good morning! As you're getting up conditions outside will be clear to mostly clear with temperatures in the mid-60s to low 70s and winds will be out of the southeast at 5-10 mph.

Tuesday afternoon we will start off with mostly sunny skies but build cloud cover through the day as a cold front begins to move through the region. Highs will range from the upper 80s to mid-90s with winds switching to the northeast at 5-15 mph and there will be a 10-20 percent chance of scattered thundershowers later this afternoon. Tonight lows will cool to the upper 50s/ low 60s with partly cloudy skies and persisting rain chances.

Wednesday morning will see lingering rain chances but we will dry out and clear through the day. Highs are expected to be below normal in the mid-80s with winds from the northeast/ east at 5-10 mph. Wednesday night will be mostly clear and in the low 60s.

Thursday and Friday look like they will be sunny to mostly sunny with highs remaining in the mid/ upper 80s and winds will switch to the southeast at 5-10 mph. Lows through this period will be in the low 60s with clear skies.

Into the weekend, both Saturday and Sunday look like they will be mostly sunny with highs getting to the upper 80s/ low 90s. Lows through this time will be in the low/ mid-60s with clear conditions.

Currently for Monday, it looks like another cold front will begin to move into the region. Skies will build cloud cover through the day and highs will be in the upper 80s.
