KTXS Forecast: Another warm, sunny, and breezy day
ABILENE, Texas - For today, look for mostly sunny skies with temperatures rebounding back to near 70 degrees. A breezy southwest wind returns as well with speeds between 15 and 25 mph with gusts up to 30 possible.
Tonight, partly cloudy skies build back in with lows dropping down to the 40s. Wind speeds will slow down to 5 to 15 mph from the southwest.
On Saturday, we will be tracking our next weather system moving swiftly from west to east across the Southern United States. Ahead of a cold front, partly sunny skies will build in but temperatures should be able to warm into the 60s. A breezy wind from the southwest continues with 15 to 25 mph speeds.
There will be a chance for an isolated t-shower during the day Saturday but most folks will likely stay dry.
The cold front will quickly push through Saturday night. Behind the front, clear skies return and winds will shift and become westerly to northwesterly by sunrise Sunday.
Wind speeds will range from 20 to 30 mph from Saturday night through at least noon on Sunday. Gusts up to 40 mph will be possible. Once we reach the afternoon hours, wind speeds will slow down to 5 to 10 mph.
Sunny skies will prevail Sunday with high temperatures being a tad cooler. Readings should register in the upper 50s to lower 60s range.
Temperatures climb back quickly to the 70s for a high temperature Monday as we track yet another frontal boundary that will move across Texas Tuesday. Because of this, a breezy southwest wind returns Monday through Tuesday at 10 to 20 mph.
Ahead of Tuesday's front, we should be able to warm to the middle 60s. Afterwards, highs in the 50s return for Wednesday and Thursday with mostly sunny skies.
