KTXS Forecast: Brief cool down ahead of a Thanksgiving warm up.
ABILENE, Texas - Good morning! As you're getting up conditions outside will be clear to mostly clear with temperatures ranging from the mid-30s to mid-40s and winds will be out of the north at 5-15 mph. You will want a warm jacket when you head out this morning. Wednesday afternoon, highs are expected to be below average in the upper 50s to low 60s with sunny skies and winds will remain out of the north around 5-10 mph. Wednesday night the region will remain clear and lows will cool to the mid-30s to low 40s. On Thursday, which is Thanksgiving, highs will bounce back to the low 70s with sunny skies and winds will switch to the south at 5-10 mph. Thursday night we will keep clear conditions and see lows in the upper 30s to mid-40s. For Friday, highs will continue to climb, making it to the mid/ upper 70s. Skies across the Big Country will be sunny to mostly sunny with winds from the southwest at 5-10 mph. Friday night lows will be in the mid-40s to low 50s and skies will remain clear. Into the weekend, on Saturday, another cold front will move through the region. Skies are expected to stay sunny but highs will range from the mid-60s to low 70s and winds will switch to the northeast at 5-10 mph. Saturday night will be clear and in the low/ mid-40s. Sunday through Tuesday currently looks like they will be sunny to mostly sunny with highs in the upper 60s/ low 70s and have winds from the south at 5-15 mph. Lows through this period will be in the mid/ upper 40s with mostly clear conditions. Note: If you are traveling across the state over the next few days for Thanksgiving, it currently looks like weather conditions should be good for most.
