KTXS Forecast: Clearing skies to bring warmer weather to the Big Country

ABILENE, Texas - Wednesday night, skies will be mostly clear with lows cooling to the low-to-mid 40s with south winds at 5-10 mph.

On Thursday and Friday, skies will be mostly sunny with highs warming to above average in the upper 60s to low 70s across the region. Winds will be breezy and out of the southwest at 10-20 mph. Lows Thursday night will be in the mid-60s with mostly clear skies, and lows Friday night will be in the low/ mid-40s with partly cloudy conditions.

Saturday, skies will be partly cloudy to mostly cloudy with highs in the mid-60s ahead of our next cold front. During the afternoon, winds will be from the southwest at 5-15 mph and there will be a 20-30 percent chance of showers for the region. Saturday night as the front pushes through, lows will cool to the upper 30s to low 40s with partly cloudy conditions and north winds at 10-15 mph.

On Sunday morning there will be a lingering 10 percent chance of showers as the front moves out of the Big Country. During the afternoon skies will remain partly cloudy with highs in the upper 50s to low 60s and very strong winds will be present out of the north at 15-25 to 20-30 mph. Sunday night, lows will cool to the mid-30s with clearing conditions and winds slowing to 15-20 mph.

For the coming work week, conditions will be sunny to mostly sunny with winds switching back down to the south at 5-15 mph and highs in the low-to-mid 60s.
