KTXS Forecast: Cloudy skies and afternoon showers return for Halloween.
ABILENE, Texas - Good morning! As you're getting up conditions outside are mostly clear to partly cloudy but we will build in cloud cover throughout the morning hours. Temperatures will range from the low 40s to mid-50s and winds are out of the north at 5-15 mph. You'll want to take a jacket and umbrella with you when you leave the house today. Tuesday afternoon, which is Halloween, highs will be well below average in the upper 40s to low 50s with cloudy skies. Winds will be out of the north/ northeast at 5-15 mph and there will be a 40-60 percent chance of scattered showers across the region through the day. Halloween night, if you plan on taking the kids trick-or-treating you will want to keep the jackets and umbrellas handy. Lows will be in the low/ mid-40s with partly cloudy skies and slowly decreasing rain chances. By Wednesday afternoon winds will switch to the southwest at 5-15 mph and skies will clear out to mostly sunny conditions. This will allow highs to quickly warm back to the mid-70s to low 80s across the Big Country. Wednesday night lows will cool to the upper 40s/ low 50s with mostly clear skies. Thursday and Friday look like they will be sunny to mostly sunny with winds out of the southwest around 5-15 mph. Highs both days will warm to above average conditions in the mid-80s. Lows through this time will be in the low/ mid-50s with clear skies. Into the weekend, for both Saturday and Sunday, highs look like they will remain above average in the mid-80s but build partly cloudy skies. Lows through the weekend will be in the upper 50s/ low 60s with partly cloudy skies and winds will be out of the south at 5-10 mph.
