KTXS Forecast: Cold front moves through early Saturday morning
ABILENE, Texas - Late Friday evening we are tracking thundershowers and thunderstorms in the Panhandle and South Plains that have formed along a cold front. The storms are forecast to weaken as they move into our area overnight.
Mainly light showers are forecast for our area early Saturday morning. The majority of them should fade before sunrise. Low temperatures should drop into the low to middle 60s for the Big Country and in the upper 60s for the Heartland and Concho Valley.
We may start Saturday with clouds mainly south of I-20, but even these should move south out of our area before noon. Fair skies are forecast for our entire area for Saturday afternoon. High temperatures should be the lower 80s.
Nate is forecast to be a category one hurricane when he makes landfall between New Orleans and Mobile Saturday evening. He is expected to continue moving quickly inland and weaken as he moves farther into the eastern U.S.
Enjoy fair skies and very mild temperatures Saturday night. Low temperatures Sunday morning should be in the lower to middle 50s.
Sunny skies are back Sunday. Very warm temperatures are forecast for Sunday afternoon with high temperatures in the upper 80s.
Another cold front is forecast to move through our area about midday Monday. Rain is not expected with this front. High temperatures Monday should be in the lower to middle 80s.
Fair to partly cloudy skies are expected for Tuesday through Thursday. High temperatures should only be in the 70s each day.
