KTXS Forecast: Cooler Tuesday

ABILENE, Texas - Temperatures were nearly 15 degrees above normal Monday. We are tracking a cold front that should bring closer to normal high temperatures for Tuesday.

High clouds should continue streaming eastward across our area Monday night. Low temperatures Tuesday should be in the middle 40s. The cold front is expected to move south through our region Tuesday with no rainfall. Look for mostly fair skies with highs in the upper 50s around and north of I-20 and in the lower 60s south of I-20.

We are forecasting mostly cloudy skies for Tuesday night. Freezing temperatures are expected with lows Wednesday morning in the upper 20s.

Morning clouds should give way to afternoon sunshine Wednesday. High temperatures should be in the 40s. Partly cloudy skies are forecast for Wednesday night. Low temperatures Thursday morning should be in the middle 20s. Mostly cloudy skies are expected for Thursday. It will be cold with high temperatures in the middle to upper 30s.

South winds are expected to return for Thursday night and lows temperatures should be in the upper 20s Friday morning. Those south winds should continue Friday and push afternoon temperatures to near 60.

Cold is forecast to blow back in Friday night. Low temperatures Saturday morning should be in the middle to upper 20s. Fair skies and cold temperatures are forecast for Saturday and Sunday. Highs should be in the middle 30s Saturday and in the middle 40s Sunday.

Dry weather is forecast to stay over our area through the weekend.
