KTXS Forecast: Drying out and staying warm through the end of the week.
ABILENE, Texas - Good morning! As you're getting up conditions outside will be partly cloudy to mostly cloudy with temperatures in the upper 60s to mid-70s and winds are out of the south at 5-10 mph. There will be a stray chance of a shower across the region this morning. Thursday afternoon will be mostly sunny to partly cloudy with highs staying around normal in the low/ mid-80s. Winds will remain out of the south at 5-10 mph and there will be isolated rain chances for western portions of the Big Country. For our Friday highs will warm to slightly above normal conditions in the mid/ upper 80s with mostly sunny skies. Friday night will be mostly clear to partly cloudy with lows in the mid/ upper 60s and winds will be out of the south at 5-15 mph. Into the weekend, on Saturday, skies will be mostly sunny to partly cloudy with highs a bit cooler in the mid-80s due to our winds switching to the north at 5-10 mph. There will be a 10-20 percent chance of isolated showers through the day. Saturday night we will cool to the low/ mid-60s with partly cloudy conditions. On Sunday, we will have mostly sunny skies and highs will bounce back to the mid/ upper 80s with south winds at 5-10 mph. Sunday night skies will remain mostly clear and lows will cool to the mid-60s. Monday morning a cold front will start pushing through the Big Country. This will cause highs into the afternoon to range from the low to mid-80s with winds switching to the northwest at 10-15 mph. Through the afternoon there will be about a 10 percent chance of isolated showers for the area. Monday night lows cool to the upper 50s with mostly clear skies. Tuesday through Wednesday currently look like they will be partly cloudy with highs below average in the low/ mid-70s and winds will keep out of the northeast at 5-15 mph.
