ABILENE, Texas - For today, breezy conditions, drier air, and warmer temperatures will create an elevated wildfire risk across the Big Country. Outdoor burning is HIGHLY DISCOURAGED. High temperatures should peak back into the 70s with mostly sunny skies. Winds speeds will range between 15 and 25 mph with gusts up to 35 mph from the west-southwest.

Tonight, the elevated wildfire risk will diminish as wind speeds slow to 5 to 15 mph out of the west. Mostly clear skies will continue with lows diving down into the lower 40s with some upper 30s possible.

Look for settled weather to remain in place Wednesday through Saturday with sunny to mostly sunny skies. High temperatures should warm each day into the 50s which is near normal for this time of year.

Temperatures will try to warm to near 60 degrees for Sunday and Monday as southwest winds increase some to bring some warmer air back to the Big Country.
