KTXS Forecast: Finally warming up as we roll into the weekend.

ABILENE, Texas - Good morning and TGIF! As you're getting up conditions outside are clear to mostly clear with winds from the north at 5-10 mph. Temperatures across the Big Country are well below freezing for most in the low 20s to upper 20s. You will need to dress very warmly when you leave this morning.

Friday afternoon skies are finally going to be sunny to mostly sunny with highs warming to the low/ mid-50s and winds will remain out of the north at 5-10 mph. Into Friday night we'll keep clear conditions and lows will cool back to freezing in the upper 20s/ low 30s.

Into the weekend, both Saturday and Sunday look like they will be sunny to mostly sunny with highs in the low to upper 60s across the region and have winds switching to the west/ southwest at 5-10 mph. Lows through this period will be in the low/ mid-30s with mostly clear conditions.

On Monday a new cold front will push through the Big Country, but a big cool down is not expected. Highs will remain above normal in the mid-60s with mostly sunny to partly cloudy skies and winds will turn to the north at 5-10 mph. Monday night will be mostly clear and in the mid-30s.

Tuesday through Thursday currently look like they will be sunny to mostly sunny and have highs that warm to the mid/ upper 60s. Winds will be out of the southwest to southeast through this time. Lows during this period are going to be in the mid/ upper 30s with mostly clear conditions.
