KTXS Forecast: Hot again with afternoon thunderstorms possible
ABILENE, Texas - Breezy conditions will continue this morning with winds gusting up to 20 mph from the south. Temperatures will be in the low to mid-70s across the area. Today, expect highs to be in the upper 90s once again and for afternoon thunderstorms to develop. Storms are expected mainly after 4 p.m. and are expected to weaken overnight. Lows overnight will be in the low to mid-70s.
Thursday will be another hot day with temperatures in the upper 90s. Winds remain from the south at 10-15 mph with stronger gusts possible. Much of the day will be partly cloudy. Rain chances narrow to mainly northwestern most counties. Overnight, lows will be in the low 70s.
For the first official day of Fall, the day looks to stay partly sunny and dry. Highs cool slightly back to the low to mid-90s. Cloudy cover will build into the evening time. Lows will be in the low to mid-70s.
Saturday and Sunday, expect lots of cloud cover with pockets of sunshine. Highs will drop to the low 90s and upper 80s by the end of the weekend. Sunday night, rain chances build in from the northwest as a slow approaching front works its way into the area.
Monday, rain chances bump up more as the front moves closer to the area. Highs drop to the upper 80s. Frontal passage is expected by Tuesday evening and rain will linger until then.
