KTXS Forecast: Inbound cold front to deliver quick cool down by mid-week.

ABILENE, Texas - Good morning! As you're getting up conditions outside will be clear to mostly clear with temperatures in the low 50s to low 60s and winds will be out of the southwest at 10-20 mph with higher wind gusts.

Tuesday afternoon highs are still expected to be above normal in the low/ mid-70s with sunny skies. Luckily a cold front will be moving through later today. This will cause our southwest winds to turn to the northwest at 10-20 mph. There will be a stray chance of a shower for northeastern portions of the Big Country as the front moves through. By Tuesday night lows will cool to the upper 30s/ low 40s with mostly clear to partly cloudy skies.

By Wednesday, highs will be around normal in the low/ mid-60s with mostly sunny skies and winds will drop back to the southwest at 5-10 mph. Wednesday night will be mostly clear and in the upper 30s/ low 40s.

Then on Thursday, another cold front will pass through the region. This will cause our highs to remain around normal in the low/ mid-60s with mostly sunny skies and winds will be out of the north at 5-15 mph. Thursday night we will be in the upper 30s/ low 40s with clear skies.

Friday and Saturday look like they will be mostly sunny with highs in the mid/ upper 60s and winds will return to the south/ southwest at 5-10 mph. Lows through this period will be in the mid/ upper 40s with mostly clear conditions.

By Sunday it looks like high temperatures will jump back to above normal conditions in the low/ mid-70s with mostly sunny to partly cloudy skies. Winds will be out of the south at 5-15 mph. Into Sunday night another cold front will begin to move into the region, but lows will be in the low 50s with partly cloudy skies.

Monday afternoon that cold front will push through the Big Country. Highs are expected to be in the mid-60s with partly cloudy to mostly cloudy skies and winds will turn to the north at 5-15 mph. There will be a 10 percent chance of showers through the day. Tuesday night the region will be mostly cloudy and in the low/ mid-40s.
