KTXS Forecast: Incoming cold front to increase afternoon rain chances.
ABILENE, Texas - Good morning! As you're getting up conditions outside will be partly cloudy to mostly cloudy with temperatures in the upper 60s/ low 70s and winds will be out of the east/ southeast at 5-10 mph. There are scattered showers this morning across the region so umbrellas will be needed. Fog is also likely for several locations around the Big Country.
Tuesday afternoon a cold front will begin moving through the region. This will cause highs to range from the mid-70s to low 80s with mostly cloudy conditions and winds will switch to the northeast at 5-10 mph. Through the afternoon thundershower chances will build to 60-70 percent. Heavy down pours that can cause localized flooding are possible, but the severe weather threat is low.
Tuesday night rain chances will continue and lows will cool to the low/ mid-60s.
Wednesday through Friday conditions across the region will remain pretty consistent. Skies keep cloudy with highs below normal in the low/ mid-70s with winds from the north/ northeast at 5-10 mph. Rain chances in the afternoon through this time will hover around 40-70 percent. Lows through this period will be in the upper 50/ low 60s with lingering rain chances.
Into the weekend, on Saturday, it looks like highs will make it back to the mid-70s with partly cloudy skies and rain chances will decrease to 20 percent. Saturday night will be in the low 60s with partly cloudy conditions.
Currently, for Sunday and Monday, it looks like the region will be mostly sunny to partly cloudy with highs in the upper 70s/ low 80s. Lows through this period will be in the low/ mid-60s with mostly clear conditions.
