KTXS Forecast: Keeping cool& cloudy throughout the Big Country.
ABILENE, Texas - Good morning! As you're getting up conditions outside will be cloudy with temperatures once again ranging from the mid-30s to low 40s and have north winds at 5-15 mph. There will be a 10-20 percent chance of light showers south of I20 this morning and fog will be possible for many locations across the Big Country. Thursday afternoon most of the region will keep mostly cloudy skies but we will slowly clear starting from northern counties and then farther south into this evening. Highs today will keep below normal in the upper 30s to mid-40s with winds out of the north at 5-15 mph. Tonight we are expecting to be mostly clear to partly cloudy and lows will be able to cool to below freezing temperatures in the mid-20s to low 30s. This means you will need to wrap pipes, cover plants and bring in outside pets. By Friday, most of the Big Country should become mostly sunny with highs able to warm to the mid/ upper 50s into the afternoon. Friday night we'll be mostly clear with lows in the mid-30s and winds will be out of the northwest at 5-15 mph. Into the weekend, both Saturday and Sunday look like they will be mostly sunny with highs above normal in the mid/ upper 60s and have west/ southwest winds at 5-10 mph. Lows through this period will be in the mid/ upper 30s with clear conditions. On Monday skies will become partly cloudy as a weak cold front begins to move into the region. Highs will be in the low/ mid-60s with southwest winds turning to the north at 5-10 mph. Monday night will be mostly clear to partly cloudy and in the low/ mid-30s. Currently, for Tuesday and Wednesday, it looks like the Big Country will be sunny to mostly sunny with highs remaining in the low/ mid-60s and have west to southwest winds at 5-10 mph.
