ABILENE, Texas - Good morning and TGIF! As you're getting up conditions outside will be clear to mostly clear and in the upper 50s to mid-60s with winds from the east/ southeast at 5-10 mph. Light jackets will likely be needed this morning.
Friday afternoon will see highs finally warm closer to our normal for this time of year. Temperatures will warm to the upper 80s/ low 90s with sunny to mostly sunny skies and winds will switch to the southeast at 5-10 mph. Friday night will be clear with lows in the mid-60s.
Into Labor Day weekend, Saturday and Sunday will be mostly sunny to partly cloudy with highs in the low 90s and winds will be out of the southeast at 5-10 mph. There will be a 10-20 percent chance of isolated showers to thundershowers both days through the afternoon. Lows through this period will be in the mid/ upper 60s with partly cloudy skies and lingering rain chances.
On Monday, which is Labor Day, skies will stay partly cloudy with a 10 percent chance of isolated showers through the afternoon. Highs will warm to the upper 80s/ low 90s with winds from the east/ southeast at 5-10 mph. Monday night will be partly cloudy and in the mid/ upper 60s.
Then for Tuesday, a cold front will start pushing through the Big Country, this will cause skies to be partly cloudy to mostly cloudy through the day. Highs will be in the upper 80s with winds switching to the northeast at 5-15 mph and there will be a 20 percent chance of thundershowers. Tuesday night will see persisting rain chances and lows in the mid-60s.
Currently, Wednesday and Thursday look like they will see clearing skies with highs staying below average in the mid/ upper 80s.
