KTXS Forecast: Mid-day cold front bringing cooler highs and rain chances.

ABILENE, Texas - Good morning! As you're getting up conditions outside are partly cloudy with temperatures ranging from the upper 50s to mid-60s and winds are out of the southwest at 10-20 mph. There will be a slight chance of fog again for some locations during the morning commute.

Wednesday afternoon our next cold front will push through the region. Skies will be partly cloudy to mostly cloudy with highs ranging from the upper 60s to mid-70s as the front passes. Winds will switch to the northwest at 10-20 mph and there will be a 20-30 percent chance of isolated showers for the Big Country. Wednesday night will keep the cloud cover and rain chances with lows in the low 50s.

For Thursday, highs will remain in the upper 60s/ low 70s with partly cloudy skies that will clear through the afternoon. Winds will switch back to the southwest at 5-15 mph and there will be a 10-20 percent chance of isolated showers. Thursday night the region will become mostly clear with lows in the low/ mid-50s.

Then for Friday, as the region sees mostly sunny skies and has winds from the southwest at 10-20 mph, highs will jump to above average in the low/ mid-80s. Friday night our next cold front will begin to move into the Big Country, but skies will remain mostly clear and lows will cool to the low/ mid-40s.

Into the weekend, for Saturday and Sunday, highs look like they will be around average in the mid/ upper 60s. Skies will be mostly sunny to partly cloudy with winds out of the north at 10-20 mph on Saturday, then switch to the south at 5-10 mph on Sunday. Lows through this period will be in the mid/ upper 40s with mostly clear conditions.

Currently, for Monday and Tuesday, the region looks like it will be partly cloudy with temperatures warming to the upper 60s/ low 70s and have south winds at 5-10 mph. Lows through this period will be in the low/ mid-50s.
