KTXS Forecast: Mid-day cold front to bring thunderstorm chances to the region
ABILENE, Texas - Monday morning will start off with mostly clear to partly cloudy skies, temperatures in the mid-60s and winds from the south at 10-15 mph. You will want to take an umbrella with you when you head out this morning.
Monday is expected to be partly cloudy with highs in the low/ mid-70s, that's before a cold front moves into the region. As it does, rain chances will start off with a 20-40 percent chance of thundershowers to thunderstorms,then build to 40-50 percent chance of severe thunderstorms tonight. The southeastern part of the Big Country is at the greatest risk of seeing severe thunderstorms throughout the overnight hours.
Tuesday afternoon highs will be in the low 70s with mostly sunny to partly cloudy skies and northeast/ east winds at 5-10 mph. Tuesday night skies become partly cloud to mostly cloudy with lows in the mid/ upper 50s.
Wednesday we see rain chances return to around a 20 percent chance of scattered thundershowers for the area. Highs will be in the mid-70s with partly cloudy skies and winds from the southeast at 5-10 mph. Wednesday night rain chances persist and lows cool to the low 60s.
For Thursday, highs warm to the mid/ upper 70s, skies will be partly cloudy and there will be a 30-40 percent chance of thundershowers through the afternoon. Thursday night we cool to the lower 60s with continued rain chances.
On Friday rain chances remain around 20 percent for the region. Highs will warm to the low 80s with partly cloudy skies and winds from the south at 10-20 mph. Friday night rain chances decrease and lows cool to the low 60s.
Currently for the coming weekend, it looks like highs will be in the low/ mid-80s with mostly sunny to partly cloudy skies and winds from the south at 5-15 mph. Lows through this period will be in the low/ mid-60s.
