KTXS Forecast: Morning cold front bringing below average temperatures
ABILENE, Texas - Wednesday morning a cold front will be making its way through the Big Country. Temperatures will range from the upper 40s to upper 60s this morning with partly cloudy skies and winds switching to the northwest at 10-20 mph. Take a warm jacket with you this morning!
Wednesday afternoon the front will make its way out of the Big Country, leaving highs to stay below normal in the upper 60s to mid-70s. Skies will clear through the afternoon with winds from the northwest at 10-20 mph and a stray chance of showers north of the I20 line through the afternoon. Tonight we will be mostly clear to partly cloudy with lows in the upper 40s/ low 50s.
By Thursday afternoon highs jump back to the mid/ upper 80s with mostly sunny skies and winds from the southwest at 10-20 mph. Thursday night will be mostly clear to partly cloudy with lows in the low 60s.
For Friday the area will begin mostly sunny but build cloud cover through the afternoon. Highs will be in the upper 80s/ low 90s with winds from the south at 10-15 mph. Friday night another cold front will push through the region so skies will build to partly cloudy/ mostly cloudy. Lows are expected to be in the low 60s with winds switching to the northwest at 10-15 mph. There will also be a 20-40 percent chance of thunderstorms across the region as the front passes through.
Saturday, partly cloudy conditions will remain and highs will be in the mid-80s with winds from the northwest at 10-15 mph. Rain chances will hover around 20-30 percent through the day and linger into the overnight hours. Saturday night will be partly cloudy to mostly cloudy with lows in the mid-40s.
Sunday morning rain chances linger but move out into the afternoon. Highs will be in the low/ mid-70s by then with clearing skies and winds from the southwest at 5-15 mph. Sunday night will be mostly clear with lows in the upper 40s.
Currently for Monday and Tuesday look like they will be sunny to mostly sunny with highs around average in the low to mid-80s.
