KTXS Forecast: Morning thunderstorm chances with cooler highs
ABILENE, Texas - Thursday morning we'll begin the day with mostly cloudy skies, temperatures in the upper 50s/ low 60s and winds from the south at 5-10 mph. There is a 30-40 percent chance of thunderstorms as well across the region, so be sure to take an umbrella when you leave the house.
Thursday afternoon rain chances will slowly decrease but isolated thundershowers can be expected through the day. Skies will remain partly cloudy to mostly cloudy with highs in the low/ mid-70s. Thursday night rain chances move out and lows will cool to the low 60s.
For Good Friday we are expecting highs in the upper 70s/ low 80s with partly cloudy skies clearing to mostly sunny by the late afternoon. Winds will be out of the south at 10-20 mph and there will be a 10 percent chance of isolated showers across the region. Friday night will be partly cloudy and in the low/ mid-60s.
On Saturday skies stay partly cloudy as highs remain in the low 80s with winds from the south at 5-15 mph and a 10 percent chance of isolated showers across the Big Country. Saturday night we build to mostly cloudy and lows cool to the low 60s.
Easter Sunday currently looks like it will be partly cloudy to mostly cloudy with highs in the upper 70s/ low 80s and winds from the south at 5-10 mph. Rain chances will begin around 10-20 percent in the early afternoon and build to 20-30 percent in the evening. Sunday night lows will cool to the low 60s with continued rain chances. If you have outdoor plans on Easter, have a plan B just in case.
Monday afternoon thunderstorm chances remain around 20-40 percent across the Big Country. Skies will be partly cloudy with highs in the low 80s and winds from the south at 5-15 mph. Monday night rain chances decrease and lows get to the low 60s.
For Tuesday and Wednesday, it currently looks like highs will warm to the mid-80s as skies clear to mostly sunny.
